Simon Hayes

Simon Hayes is a highly respected figure in the motorcycle training industry with a passion deeply rooted in enhancing rider safety and skills development.

His career as a motorcycle instructor began in 1991, coinciding with the introduction of the Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) in the UK.

Simon’s approach to motorcycle instruction is characterised by a commitment to ensuring that learner riders are safe, in control and fully understand both their actions and the bike’s behaviour.

Before founding the Motorcycle Training App some of the ventures Simon is involved in, include owner of RMT Motorcycle Training and Motorcycle Riders Hub. He is also founder and co-owner of Motorcycle Instructor Training Centre, an online resource platform helping Motorcycle Instructors develop into professional trainers.

He dedicated the initial Motorcycle Instructor years teaching military personnel to ride, achieving a remarkable 100% success rate. This is where he learnt his craft and excelled in creating and developing new teaching techniques.

This experience laid a solid foundation for his reputation for excellence and high-level training capabilities. It was the perfect start to a life of motorcycle rider education and coaching others.

Simon’s instructional philosophy extends beyond mere riding skills. He initiated video-based training resources as a complementary learning tool, significantly enhancing the practical training experience for students.

This innovative approach evolved into Motorcycle Riders Hub. The UK’s first 100% video-based motorcycle training resource, aiming to improve riding standards and safety across the UK.

Simon’s experience spans years of military teaching roles, with qualifications for DVSA certifications for CBT, DAS, ERS instruction. He also has accreditations and achievements in advanced riding from both IAM and RoSPA.

Simon Hayes brings a wealth of experience and expertise to motorcycle training. His contributions to the field are driven by a genuine passion for training and a commitment to reducing accidents through informed and skilled riding.

He is also an author of various motorcycle training publications. They are not the normal read, as they guide riders through the different stages of learning.

These are accompanied by two adventure riding books detailing a personal journey to Asia with a friend and a group Advanced Training Tour to Montenegro.
